So Who Is Miike Snow?
Remember when i wrote this? Now some dude left me a comment linking to some info about who Miike Snow are. Thanks TC On The Radio!
Miike Snow is:
'Swedish producers/songwriters, Bloodshy & Avant, have teamed up with Andrew Wyatt (Fires of Rome, Black Beetle) to create this mysterious group known as Miike Snow. Bloodshy & Avant have worked with artists such as Britney Spears, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, and Maroon 5. Pop music seems to have been their focus throughout their career, but as Miike Snow they have broke that trend. The two songs already released have a very chill indie feel, mixing a lot of sythesizers in with some more traditional instruments.'
Miike Snow - Animal (Treasure Fingers remix)

THE PRESETS
The Presets - If I Know You (Heartbreak remix)
'The next single by The Presets is If I Know You, and it comes correct with a clutch of fine remixes by the likes of UK housemeister Tom Middleton, Israeli techno lord Chaim (p.s. do you think that is his real name or a tribute to Corey Haim?), former Depeche Mode, Yazoo & Erasure producer Vince Clarke, plus a stunning cover version by Tania & Jori [Via Tania & Jori Hulkkonen] and an alternate version by The Presets themselves.
Here however, is the remix by London italo house duo Heartbreak, a throbbing, old skool italo electro take on one of the more sombre moments on Apocalypso.'
Words by Modular Records.

EKKO presents: MAX TUNDRA (UK)
EKKO presents: MAX TUNDRA(UK) + ASEL & SILJE
STRÆDET 14.FEB
22.00-02.30
CC: 70,-
Info about MAX TUNDRA:
Ben Jacobs was lucky enough to grow up in a house with a piano. As a child he protested about the lessons in which he was forced to learn the music of the famous (dead) composers. "I used to prefer sitting at the keyboard at home and playing tv theme songs and music from adverts", remembers Ben. Eventually he realised that this expanse of black and white keys could be turned to his own advantage and he began forming his own musical inventions.
One day, the teenage Ben bought a Commodore Amiga 500 home computer. Armed with this and a 1pund piece of music software, he began to explore the world of electronic composition. Eventually he got so good at using this cheap set-up that back in 1998 Warp Records released his first single. "Warp were the only label who were interested in my first tune," says Ben. "I sent my demo tape to fifty labels in all, but most people freaked out. A couple of guys made the bizarre criticism that I had too many ideas." This criticism has frequently dogged Max Tundra (as he was hereby renamed), in a musically diverse, eclectic career where time signatures, musical genres and instrumentation have been given the thorough shake-up they have long needed.
For the last few years (as well as remixing bands such as Franz Ferdinand, Pet Shop Boys, The Futureheads, Tunng and Von Sudenfed), Max Tundra has been working on his third album for Domino. This record has been completed, and is scheduled for an October 2008 release. Six years have passed since the release of his previous LP. During this time many bands have formed, recorded albums, and split up. In a time when groups are encouraged to bang out new records two or three times a year, it is almost quaint to encounter a project which took the best part of a decade to record. Despite the attention to detail in the densely layered programming, these new songs are Max's catchiest, brightest and most memorable yet, and make much of his earlier work sound home-made and clunky. Now that it's finished he can leave the house once more.
Max Tundra's warm, emotive, uplifting songs will capture your spirit, pour it over ice, and serve it back to you at the best disco in town (where you won't get turned away for liking both Destiny's Child and Frank Zappa). Incidentally, there's no dress code either.

Now this promo surfaces, and its just as perfect as the previous singles. Those synthstab at 1:29.......just amazing. Enjoy!

Röyksopp - Happy Up Here (Breakbot remix)
Röyksopp - Happy Up Here (Breakbot remix)
Breakbot give it a go. There is also a Boys Noize remix of this track out there. But that was pretty crap. This is probably the tip of the iceberg of remixes of this track. Dont know if any of theese will be proper released.
Worth a read:
Röyksopp's TOP 5 ANIMAL - In Their Own Words
First, those who didn’t make into top 5, but qualifies to our “Honorable Mentions”:
Wolverine - “Ferocious animal who doesn’t back out of a fight - although not much bigger than an average medium-sized dog, it has been known to take down prey as large as moose. Now that’s will & stamina in a lethal mix. Looks fairly handsome as well.”
Starfish - “Lazy fish that has understood the importance of esthetics and taking it slow. Doesn’t do very much (or at least so we believe) - it just sort of sits there. Get’s credit for the ability to regenerate lost arms.”
The top 5:
5. Eagle/Shark - “We’ve given the number 5 slot to both the eagle and the shark based on their remarkable hunting skills and amazing sensory apparatus + the fact that they’re both animals very often favoured by heavymetal enthusiasts. Bigups!”
4. Lemur - “Number 4 belongs to the lemur - just look at it’s eyes and you’ll understand why. Also got very nice fur, a smart tail and intriguing fingers.”
3. Baboon - “The animal kingdoms version of a “shitkicker” - or is it the other way around? Anyway, he’s a brute and a brawler who moves & runs like a pissed, up-to-no-good testosteron moron. Kudos to the alphamale!”
2. Stoat - “Admired by us for it’s hiding skills and stealth. Not even afraid of humans - ’cause it knows it can outsmart us - in terms of hide and seek at least. Buckets of bonus-points for combination of mystique & elegance - ’cause it looks quite damn sleek as well!”
1. Ants - “As the prime competitor for planetary sovereignty, this species is rewarded with the number 1 spot. Although thier life consists of not much more than work, one has to admire their ability to cooperate - which is truly aweinspiring and should be set as an example for us all. Hail to the king - or rather queen!”

The Stig/Banksy of Blogging reveals himself.....
Carles from the ridiculously entertaining and popular Hipster Runoff blog has sent out a picture of himself.(above) Probably just to make himself even more of a myth. The picture is titled "1 of 13" so there might be some more, with number 13 beeing a pic of him in the nude with just the helmet on, showing that he's got his whole body covered in tribal tattoos that he got in 96/97 which he is horrible ashamed of?? Read a interview with him here where he explains a little bit more. Not much thou.

THE RETURN of JUNIOR BOYS
'Begone Dull Care is the Junior Boys' third album, following the critical and commercial successes of Last Exit (2004) and So This Is Goodbye (2006). The title is a reference to a short film by the pioneering Oscar-winning Scottish-Canadian animator and electronic composer, Norman McLaren, who was a big influence on the conception and creation of this album. McLaren may not be as well-known today, but his influence has been seen by nearly anyone whose been raised on the early works of the Children's Television Workshop. McLaren was especially fond of direct film animation (the technique of physically manipulating or painting on film frame by frame) as is the case with Begone Dull Care and stop-start animation (as displayed in his classic, Neighbours).'
(i did not write this. lazy cut&paste today)
Junior Boys - Begone Dull Care Tracklist:
•Parallel Lines
•Work <-- Download
•Bits And Pieces
•Dull To Pause
•Hazel
•Sneak A Picture
